Pemanfaatan Limbah Abu Ampas Tebu Dan Serbuk Bata Merah Sebagai Filler Pada Aspal Beton Lapis Aus (Ac-Wc)
ABSTRACT
Flexible pavement has an asphalt mixture used as a surface layer, which aims to
protect the layers underneath. One of the most commonly used asphalt mixtures is
asphalt concrete. The asphalt mixtures consist of coarse aggregate, fine aggregate,
binder, and/without filler. The filler commonly used in asphalt mixtures is cement.
However, the use of cement has been very much, resulting in increased cement
production. Cement production is one of the biggest contributors to CO2 emissions
that can cause global warming. Alternative materials that can replace cement are
bagasse ash and red brick powder because these two materials have pozzolanic
properties. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of bagasse ash and
red brick powder as a substitute for cement in the AC-WC mixture. This study used
a design asphalt content of 4.5%; 5.0%; 5.5%; 6.0% and 6.5%. The filler used is
2% of the total weight of the aggregate, with variations in the combination of
bagasse ash and red brick powder by 25%-75%; 50%-50%; and 75%-25%. This
study uses the 2018 Bina Marga General Specifications as a reference. The test
results show that the optimal asphalt content is only in the 25%-75% variation of
5.95%. The other two variations do not produce the optimal asphalt content values
because they do not meet specifications. At the optimum asphalt content value
obtained stability, flow, VIM, VMA, VFA and MQ values are respectively: 1019.90
kg; 3.50mm; 4.34%; 17.06%; 74.58% and 291.40 kg/mm.
