The building is a facility used to carry out various activities according to its
planned function. Indonesia is one of the countries that quite often carry out the
construction of high-rise buildings. As time goes by, the geometry used in
designing the building is varied increasingly depending on the functionality and
aesthetics of the building that is planned and its functionality must be monitored
regularly so as not to cause a collapse that threatens the safety of life and
property in it. In addition, this routine monitoring can use Rapid Visual Screening
(RVS).
RVS is one of the methods used to calculate the value of the condition of the
building based on the standards set. Modeling with finite element software, the
behavior of the building can be simulated, if there is an earthquake or other
ground movement due to a local earthquake or impact from other areas, it can be
seen whether the condition of the building needs to be strengthened or needs to be
changed geometrically from the building so as not to cause damage quite a big
loss. This study carried out 3 (three) stages of analysis, namely RVS Analysis,
Modal Analysis, and Non-linear Time History Analysis which were carried out on
the office building of the Regional Planning and Development Agency
(BAPPEDA) Siak Regency, Riau Province.
The results show that according to the results of the RVS, the final score is 2.1
which does not need to be further analyzed with FEMA 356. However, this
research is continued to determine the state of the structure if there is a dynamic
load that is large enough and has the potential to collapse the building.
According to the modal analysis, the resulting structure has a frequency of 0.935
cycles/second and a natural period of 1.068 seconds, and based on the mass
participation ratio more than 90% of the structural components play a role in
resisting external forces. Based on the analysis of the history of the building at the
IO level at 3.35 seconds and reaching Collapse (C) at 19.12 seconds. It can be
concluded that this structure does not meet the requirements that have been
determined according to the standards set by FEMA 356.
