ABSTRACT
The use of a coaxial type ozone generator is needed to carry out
sterilization which is useful in dealing with various kinds of pollution, this role is
very important in the shop office industry, drug store, chemical, water, and health
for foodstuffs. Ozone is a chemical element o3 which is capable of sterilizing and
is environmentally friendly. Ozone cannot be stored and transported because it
rapidly decomposes into liquid oxygen molecules. Ozone must be produced
sustainably or close to its utilization installations, so that it can be used directly
without having to be stored or transported first. The ozone generator with the
corona discharge method is a generator that is widely produced commercially,
high production yield, easy maintenance and easy application are some of the
advantages of this method. The stator is a field coil composed of several coils of
enameled wire (coil) coated with an insulating material, the number of coils also
affects the output voltage quantity. The influence of the magnetic field on the
production of ozone energetic electrons can trigger an ozone production reaction
because the concentration produced by the discharge will increase. In this study, a
90 watt induction motor stator with 450 turns is used which functions as a
magnetic field used in the ozone generator. The electrode used is a rough surface
electrode with a diameter of 27mm. There are several voltage variations that will
be tested by using dimmer to vary the voltage.10 V, 110 V and 220 V are
variations of the voltage used in the test. This study uses the oxygen flow rate as a
burner before the formation of ozone, as for the use of the flow rate of 2.5 L/ min
and 5 L/ min, the highest ozone concentration is in the ozone generator with the
influence of electromacnetic which is given a flow rate of 2.5 L / minute.
