Peran Kepala Sekolah Dalam Pengelolaan Manajemen Berbasis Sekolah (MBS) Di SD Negeri 007 Pangkalan Kerinci
Through proper management in accordance with the needs of the community and development, it is necessary to improve management and leadership. The existence of School-Based Management (SBM) provides inspiration for schools and makes it possible to improve the quality of schools to realize their dreams that have been stated in the vision, mission, and school goals that have been set. To achieve this achievement, through the implementation of School-Free Management, it is possible to compete to achieve it. SD Negeri 007 Pangkalan Kerinci is one of the public schools in the city of Pangkalan Kerinci which is located in Pangkalan Kerinci District, Pelalawan Regency. SD Negeri 007 Pangkalan Kerinci realizes the importance of School-Based Management (SBM) as an effort to improve the quality of education. To improve the quality of education, SD Negeri 007 Pangkalan Kerinci has begun to improve itself and make improvements to the system in order to improve the quality of education which of course will have a positive impact on the school community. SD Negeri 007 Pangkalan Kerinci has been one step ahead of the existing elementary schools in the city of Pangkalan Kerinci, Pelalawan Regency, Riau Province in general. This is proven by the success of the principal's role in managing SBM by providing support to the school community so as to produce achievements both in terms of academic and non-academic. The approach used in this research is a qualitative descriptive approach. This research was conducted at SD Negeri 007 Pangkalan Kerinci, Pelalawan Regency. The consideration is that the school is a favorite school in the Pangkalan Kerinci sub-district, Pelalawan district. In addition, the parties who will be the research subjects are informants in this study including: (1) key informants or main informants, namely the principal of SDN 007 Pangkalan Kerinci, Pelalawan Regency. (2) supporting informants include: School Committee, Curriculum Sector, Student Affairs, Public Relations Division, treasurer, and SDN 007 Teachers. The data collected in this study were primary data and secondary data. Primary data were obtained through interviews and documentation, while secondary data was obtained through documentation studies by researchers using data analysis techniques using the Miles and Huberman models. The principal of SD Negeri 007 Pangkalan Kerinci in carrying out his role in managing SBM has carried out the functions and strategies as Educators, Managers, Administrators, Supervisors, Leaders, Innovators and Motivators with great success. In addition, the Principal of SD Negeri 007 Pangkalan Kerinci has determination, enthusiasm, competence/self-ability, as well as a courage to use strengths (Strength), face obstacles (Weaknesses), take advantage of opportunities (Opportunities), and face challenges (Threats), besides that also have the ability to establish relationships with existing stakeholders. In overcoming various existing obstacles, the Principal of SD Negeri 007 Pangkalan Kerinci coordinated with existing stakeholders, training, training, upgrading, workshops, supervision, school meetings, committee

meetings, presenting resource persons, providing guidance. So that the existing obstacles do not interfere with the course of the school program that is made.
