Monitoring Keanekaragaman Burung Pemangsa Pada Migrasi Arus Balik Di Rupat Utara Riau
ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study was to determine the type’s birds of prey that migrated to North Sumatra and also to estimate the number birds of prey that migrated to North Sumatra. This research was carried out in North Rupat, Riau Province, from March 12nd until March 25th, 2021. The equipment used in this research includes binoculars, camera, GPS, and observation sheets. This research also uses materials such as maps and supporting documents such as guide books. This research uses the birdwatching method and is assisted by the quick counting method. Research on migratory birds of prey in North Rupat found three types of migratory birds of prey. Migratory birds of prey found were the Oriental Honey Buzzard, Chinese Sparrowhawk and Black Baza. The total number of birds of prey that migrated was 1,448 birds of prey that migrated. The dominant species of migratory birds of prey is the Oriental Honey Buzzard. Meanwhile the few species found are the Black Baza. Estimates of the number of birds of prey migrating to North Rupat are approximately 100 individuals per day.
