Pengaruh Lebar Dan Tinggi Tapak Timbun Terhadap Distribusi Akar Kelapa Sawit (Elaeis Guineensis Jacq.) Umur 10 Tahun Pada Lahan Minera
ABSTRACT
Oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) is the mainstay of the country's foreign exchange earner. The low productivity of oil palm is caused by genetic factors and has not implemented a good technical culture, namely the lack of knowledge of farmers, limited access to production inputs, and poor behavior of planters, it is necessary to improve the technical culture of the garden, one of the applications of technical culture can be done is filling the roots by making a pile of treads. The subsidence of the soil surface so that many roots are above the soil surface, and the hanging root function is reduced so that it interferes with the growth and development of oil palm roots. This study aims to determine the effect of the piled site on the growth and development of roots in mature oil palm plants. This research was carried out experimentally using a non-factorial randomized block design (RAK), namely the height of the piled site and the width of the piled site. Each treatment was repeated 5 times so that 25 experimental units were obtained. Each experimental unit consisted of 3 sample trees so the total number of sample trees used was 75 trees. Based on the research that has been done, it is recommended to apply a pile of piles with a height of 40 cm can help improve the development of the root system in oil palm plants that have been produced in mineral fields.
