Uji Beberapa Konsentrasi Ekstrak Tepung Daun Pepaya (Carica Papaya L.) Terhadap Ulat Grayak Jagung Spodoptera Frugiperda J. E. Smith Di Laboratorium
ABSTRACT
Spodoptera frugiperda J. E. Smith are the main pests that are very damaging to corn plants. One way to control S. frugiperda pests is to use botanical insecticide papaya leaf (Carica papaya L.). This study aims to obtain a concentration of papaya leaf flour extract (Carica papaya L.) that is effective in controlling fall armyworm pests (Spodoptera frugiperda J. E. Smith). The research was conducted at the Plant Pest Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, Pekanbaru from November to January 2022, using a complete random design (CRD) with five treatments and four repeats with the concentration of papaya leaf flour extract which is 0 g.l-1 water, 25 g.l-1 water, 50 g.l-1 water, 75 g.l-1 water and 100 g.l-1 water. The results showed that the treatment of some concentrations of papaya leaf flour extract (Carica papaya L.) exerted a noticeable influence on the mortality rate of pest S. frugiperda J. E. Smith. Application of papaya leaf flour extract at a concentration of 100 g.l-1 water was effective concentration to kill S. frugiperda larvae of 85 % with the initial time of death which is 9.75 hours after application and lethal time of 50 which is 36.75 hours after application.
