Rancang Bangun Parasut Landing Untuk Wahana Terbang Uav Serindit V-2

ABSTRACT
UAV is a technology of aerial vehicle without a pilot occupied within the body. Serindit V-2 is a fixed wing UAV that was designed to fly and accelerate rapidly. Most of fixed wing UAV lands by belly landing method. The bottom part of the fuselage experience direct impact with landing runways, and resulting to high risk of fracture. Besides belly landing, fixed wings were commonly found to use landing gears to land. However, the main drawback of landing gears is not efficient for mapping missions in remote areas. Due to limited space for landing. The purpose of this research is to solve this issue by designing a parachute landing method. Parachute landing is a landing method by utilizing a parachute to decelerate the falling motion of the UAV in order to land safely. The superiority of parachutes is the simplicity of the operational process, doesn’t require a landing runway, and minimalize the landing impacts. The parachute use Alpen Milky fabric as the material that made of synthetic fiber. The initial research are based on the Serindit V-2 specification, therefore the surface area of the parachute is 2.852 m2. The main parachute has a diameter of 1.705 m and 0.682 m for the secondary parachute. The rope string has 2.2 m length, a structural strength of 0.932 N/m and 8.04 safety factor. The design resulted to a down speed of 4.33 m/s (landing phase) on 86 m altitude and 17 seconds to reach the ground.
