English Study Program Students’ Perceptions Toward Toefl Prediction As One Of The Graduation Requirements At Universitas Riau

TOEFL test is taken to measure someone’ English Proficiency in order to be able to connect to community around the world. TOEFL test is also set as one of requirements for college students for college admission and graduation. This study aimed to find out students’ perceptions toward TOEFL prediction as one of the graduation requirements at Universitas Riau. This study employed descriptive- quantitative approach. This study involved 171 English Study Program students from three batches in Universitas Riau. Questionnaire was used as the instrument to get the data of this study. Microsoft Excel and SPSS statistics 26 were used to analyze the data. The result of data analysis showed that the mean score was mostly in the high level which means that students’ perception in this study led into positive toward the policy. But nearly 92 (54%) out of 171 students in this study considered that TOEFL Prediction was still not an easy test, and students’ insights about the type of TOEFL that is provided by the Language Center at Universitas Riau and the benefit of the TOEFL Prediction certificate were still low
