A tourist attraction is a place that becomes a visit for tourists because it has
resources. The existence of tourist attractions has an impact, especially for the
surrounding community. Economic conditions are the position of each individual
or group related to generally accepted average measures such as type of work,
education level, income level, outpouring of work, unemployment rate and so on.
Based on the researchers' initial observations, the surrounding community has felt
a positive impact with the construction of beach attractions. This is clearly seen in
the work or profession of the surrounding community which at first the majority of
fishermen have now switched professions to trade. This study aims to determine the
impact of the existence of beach tourism objects on the economy of the community
in Bugis Village, Tanjung Uban Utara Village, North Bintan District, Bintan
Regency. This type of research is qualitative research, which is the type of data in
the form of written and oral obtained from interviews and observations in the field
with research subjects and informants.
The results showed that the existence of beach attractions had an impact on
the economic condition of the people of Bugis Village. Based on the results of data
analysis that has been carried out, it was found that the type of community work
changed from previously oriented towards catches at sea, but now it has changed to
opening a business. People who changed their professions to open businesses in
coastal tourist attraction areas also experienced an increase in income. In addition,
the community has also experienced an increase in the length of working time by
working in the coastal tourist attraction area. The existence of beach attractions can
also reduce unemployment in Bugis Village because people can open businesses in
coastal tourist attraction areas that do not require educational qualifications because
most people in Bugis Village do not continue their education to a higher level.
