Pengaruh Natrium Karbonat (Na2co3) Dalam Intermediate Black Liquor (Ibl) Terhadap Running Time Pada Evaporator #3 Pt Riau Andalan Pulp And Paper
ABSTRACT
This content can have a bad impact on the evaporator, which can cause scale. The purpose of observation from this final project is to determine the effect of the amount of sodium carbonate (Na2CO3) in the intermediate black liquor (IBL) on running time, and determine the optimal running time on evaporator #3. In the evaporator, running time is the period of time when the evaporator unit is on product until off product. The process variables observed were the amount of sodium carbonate (Na2CO3) in intermediate black liquor (IBL), running time evaporator #3, and the value of the temperature difference between steam or vapour and liquor (ΔT) effect 1. In the results of this observation, the amount of sodium carbonate in the intermediate black liquor (ton/day) and running time is very influential on the value of the temperature difference between steam or vapour and liquor (ΔT) effect 1. Black liquor is rich in sodium salt compounds, so that in the process of concentration the salt will reach its solubility limit and will precipitate to form a scale that can reduce the performance of the evaporator. The scale contained in the evaporator can be removed by using weak black liquor and condensate B as washing liquid to dissolve the salt.
Keywords: sodium carbonate (Na2CO3), running time, scale, intermediate black liquor.
