Prarancangan Pabrik Asam Asetat Dengan Proses Chiyoda/Uop Aceticatm Dan Desain Alat Utama Reaktor (R-101)
ABSTRACT
The acetic acid industry in Indonesia is one of the chemical industries that has good prospects. This acetic acid product has a fairly wide market such as the Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA) industry, the ethyl acetate industry, the textile industry, the rubber yarn industry and is also used as a semi-finished material to make chemicals, such as vinyl acetate, cellulose acetate, acid acetic anhydride and chloroacetate. The process of making acetic acid using the Acetica process produces acetic acid through a carbonylation reaction of methanol, with a heterogeneous Rhodium catalyst equipped with a support in the form of polyvinyl pyridine resin and a methyl iodide (CH3I) promoter. The main reaction that occurs is the carbonylation reaction of methanol. The results of the economic analysis of the pre-design of the Acetic Acid Plant with the Chiyoda/UOP AceticaTM Process are (1) BEP (Break event Point) obtained in the design of this plant of 58.81%. (2) ROI (Rate of Investment) obtained in this design is 21.27%. (3) The IRR (Interest Rate of Return) obtained in this design is 22.74%. (4) PBP (Pay Back Period) obtained in this design is 5 years. From the data from the calculation of the economic analysis above, it can be concluded that the Acetic Acid factory with the Chiyoda/UOP AceticaTM Process is feasible to be established.
