Kemampuan Menulis Teks Deskripsi Melalui Media Gambar Siswa Kelas X SMAN 2 Enok
A person's writing ability is obtained when he is in school. Starting from being taught from elementary school to university, not everyone is able to express their ideas and thoughts in good writing. Writing ability is the ultimate goal that must be achieved in other abilities. One of the writing skills taught in the 2013 Curriculum class X, KD 3.2, with indicators of achievement of competencies 3.2.1 & 3.2.2 even semester is writing a descriptive text. This study aims to describe the ability to write descriptive text through media images in the aspect of structure, aspect of content, aspects of language rules of class X students. The method that the writer uses is descriptive research with a quantitative approach. The population in this study were all students of class X Science & Social Sciences at SMAN 2 Enok. The sample is all students of class X Science & Social Sciences at SMAN 2 Enok. The sampling technique in this study was simple random sampling. The data analysis technique uses the average test of Ability to Write Descriptions (KMD). Based on the results of data analysis, the students' ability to write descriptive text through media images was obtained from 150 total samples, namely the lowest score was 67 and the highest was 94 with a level of ability above the KKM (Minimum Completeness Criteria). Where as a whole students are able to describe the text in accordance with the topics that the author has previously determined, based on aspects of the structure, content, and language rules of the descriptive text. In detail, the writer will discuss students' ability to write descriptive text based on structural aspects, content aspects, and linguistic conventions aspects. First, the structural aspect which is divided into three parts, namely identification, part description, and conclusion. After the authors conducted the research, the authors stated that overall the ability to write descriptive texts of students from structural aspects was in the low category, namely 60%. This the writer concludes from the score obtained for each part of the structure which the writer then percentages. Where for the identification obtained a percentage of 44%, for the description of the section obtained a percentage of 79%, and for the conclusion obtained a percentage of 56%, divided by 3 to obtain a percentage of 60 which is a low category. Second, the aspect of content which is the suitability of the content with the content that has been determined. After the authors conducted the research, the authors stated that overall the ability to write descriptive texts of students from the content aspect was in a very high category. This the author concludes from the results of the percentage of content aspects, namely 99%. That is, overall students are able to write descriptive text in accordance with the contents specified by the author. Third, the aspect of linguistic rules which is the suitability of writing with predetermined linguistic rules. After the writer conducted the research, the writer stated that overall the students' ability to write descriptive text from the aspect of
linguistic rules was in a very high category. This the writer concludes from the
results of the percentage of aspects of linguistic rules, namely 97%. That is, as a
whole students are able to write descriptive text in accordance with the language
rules that the writer determines. The ability to write descriptive text through the
media of images of class X students of SMAN 2 Enok obtained an average grade
in the moderate category, namely 77. Furthermore, structural aspects were divided
into three parts, namely identification, section description, and conclusions, for
identification a percentage of 44% was obtained, for description of the section
obtained a percentage of 79%, and for the conclusion obtained a percentage of
56%, divided by 3 to obtain a percentage of 60 which is a low category.
Furthermore, the content aspect which is the suitability of the content with the
specified content, the percentage of the content aspect is 99%. That is, overall
students are able to write descriptive text in accordance with the contents
specified by the author. Aspects of linguistic rules which are the suitability of
writing with predetermined linguistic rules, the percentage of linguistic aspects of
the aspect is 97%. That is, as a whole students are able to write descriptive text in
accordance with the language rules that the writer determines.
