Analisis Kinerja Jaringan Wi-Fi Lobby Gedung C Pada Fakultas Teknik Universitas Riau
Riau University is the largest campus in Riau province. Riau University has a Local Area Network (LAN) network in each faculty. Wireless networks are used to support academic learning systems, e-learning, and so on. In accessing the network, the importance of a good internet network quality is something that needs to be considered by the academic community within the FT UNRI environment. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct measurements of Wi-Fi network quality in Building C of FT UNRI. The objective of this research is to perform network analysis or monitoring using parameters such as throughput, Packet Loss, delay, and jitter, as in previous studies, and this research adds 3 parameters: Signal Strength, Channel, and the number of users. Network analysis is conducted using applications such as WirelessMon, Fing, and Axecen NetTools. WirelessMon is used to capture Signal Strength and Channel data. Fing is used to capture the number of users. Axecen NetTools is used to capture QoS parameters data, including throughput, Packet Loss, delay, and jitter. The research was conducted for 1 month, starting from Monday to Thursday, at 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM, 12:00 PM - 01:00 PM, and 03:00 PM - 04:00 PM WIB. The results of the measurement of the 3 main parameters show that the average Signal Strength is -63.5 dBm, categorized as good. The average measurement results for the number of access points with Channel 1 are 27 AP, with a daily average on the first day, Monday, being 30 AP, on the second day, Tuesday, it decreased to 29 AP, on the third day, Wednesday, it decreased further to 25 AP, and on the fourth day, Thursday, it decreased again to 23 AP. Therefore, it can be concluded that the number of APs with Channel 1 is categorized as unstable or decreasing from the first day to the fourth day. The average measurement results for the number of users are 95 users, with a daily average on the first day, Monday, being 84 users, increasing to 89 users on the second day, Tuesday, further increasing to 104 users on the third day, Wednesday, and then decreasing to 102 users on the fourth day, Thursday. The QoS measurement results obtained values that are categorized as very good, as they show a delay of 29 ms, Packet Loss of 2%, jitter of 0.17 ms, and throughput of gb 1,6 Mbps.
