Manajemen Kawasan Hutan di Nagari Air Bangis Kabupaten Pasaman Barat

Forest is an ecosystem unit in the form of an expanse of land containing biological natural resources dominated by trees in the natural environment. One of the regulations regarding governance is contained in government regulation Number 6 of 2007 concerning forest management and the preparation of forest management plans and forest utilization. Forest management is intended to maintain the above forest functions in line with its utilization activities. The managed forest area is then called a Forest Management Area (KPH). According to the management area, UPTD Forest management units are divided into UPTD KPHK (Conservation Forest Management Units), UPTD KPHL (Protected Forest Management Units), and UPTD KPHP (Production Forest Management Units). This research uses the concept of management function theory according to Siswanto which consists of five indicators. The five indicators are planning, organizing, directing, motivating and controlling. The results of the research show that forest management in Nagari Air Bangis is still not optimal. There are two obstacle factors that influence it. The first is the existenceof open road access and the second is the problem of human resources.
