Prarancangan Pabrik Piridin Dari Formaldehid Dengan Desain Alat Utama Reaktor Fluidisasi
Azabenzene azine, also known by the name pyridine, is an organic compound with the chemical formula C5H5N, featuring a substituted nitrogen atom in the benzene ring. Pyridine is commonly employed as a raw material in the production of pharmaceuticals such as antimicrobial agents, antiviral agents, antidiabetic agents, and anti-inflammatory agents. The demand for pyridine in Indonesia is currently met through import activities. A pyridine plant is planned to operate for 330 days a year, 24 hours a day, with a capacity of 5,500 tons per year, to be established in the Bontang region of East Kalimantan. The raw material utilized in the design of the pyridine plant is formaldehyde, employing the Chichibabin process. The key equipment in this plant design is the Fluidized Bed Reactor, which serves to produce pyridine. The fluidized bed reactor operates at a pressure of 1 atm and a temperature of 360°C. Economic analysis of this plant design indicates that establishing the pyridine plant using the Chichibabin process is viable, with a Return on Investment (ROI) of 61.33% and a Payback Period (PBP) of 1.3 years.
