Penerapan Sistem Bukaan Passive Lighting Pada Kantor Pos Utama Pekanbaru

Pekanbaru is the center of all sectors in Riau Province. So that there are many shipping activities or transactions carried out by both local governments and the community. One of the business entities engaged in shipping and transaction sevices is the Indonesia Post Office of Pekanbaru. The Post Office is one of the long established business entities in Indonesia, namely during the Dutch government and spread widelyin 1995 as a delivery service. No wonder that many Indonesian Post Offive are found that have an architectural style of colonialism. However, the Pekanbaru Main Post office still has not reached the lighting standards in the building. This result in disruption of worker and public activities in it. Although artificial lighting has been used in large quantities, it is still below the lighting standard and is wasteful of electrical energy. Therefore, research was conducted on lighting to apply a passive lighting opening system which is a architectural element that utilizes natural light in buildings without having use excess artificial light. The research will focus on analyzing lighting levels and openings as well as how light is distributed into buildings. So that, the results of this research will be in the form of the application of passive lighting opening system at the Pekanbaru Main Post Office to realize building that pay attention to energy efficiency.
