Strategy for Accelerating Fire Management in the Pekanbaru City Fire and Rescue Service

ABSTRACT

Pekanbaru City has developed into the center of Riau Province government, especially in the development of infrastructure, industry and services. Increased development is a symbol that population growth has quite a significant impact. With the increasing number of developments, the Riau Provincial Government has to improve the quality of service to the community, especially in the field of fire services. The Pekanbaru City Government is guided by Ministerial Regulation Number 114 of 2018 concerning Basic Service Technical Standards in Minimum Service Standards for Regency/City Regional Fire Affairs. This research aims to analyze the Acceleration Strategy and identify factors that hinder the Strategy implemented by the Fire and Rescue Service in improving the quality of fire services in Pekanbaru City. This research uses Geoff Mulgan's theory in Achmad Khanza (2022) which uses indicators: Purpose, Environment, Direction. Action (Action), Learning (Learning). This research uses a descriptive type of qualitative research. The results of this research found that the Acceleration Strategy carried out by the Pekanbaru City Fire and Rescue Service is still not optimal, this is because the fire volunteer strategy carried out has not yet been developed because it is constrained by infrastructure and the lack of existing budget allocations, followed by socialization carried out by the Fire Department Fires are also still minimal, this means that the process of handling fires in Pekanbaru City is still not optimal.
