Pra-Rancangan Pabrik Metanol Dari Batubara Dengan Desain Alat Utama Reaktor Gasifier (R-101)
Methanol (methyl alcohol) is a colorless liquid at room temperature with a characteristic light alcoholic odor with the molecular formula CH3OH. Methanol acts as a basic chemical which is widely used in various industries as an intermediate compound which is a raw material for various industries. The main raw materials used in making methanol are coal and oxygen. Coal gasification technology is used to convert coal into syngas which can be further processed into methanol. The methanol synthesis process using lurgy technology is the selected process in methanol production. This factory is planned to operate for 330 days per year and work continuously 24 hours/day with a capacity of 480.000 tons/year which will be established in Tanjung Enim, South Sumatra Province. The company form chosen is a Limited Liability Company (PT) with a line and staff organizational system. The employee work system is based on the division of working hours consisting of shift and non-shift employees. The main equipment design in this plant is a moving bed type Gasifier Reactor (R-101) which functions to convert coal into syngas with a conversion of 99%. This Gasifier Reactor (R-101) is operated at a pressure of 40 atm and a temperature of 900oC. Economic analysis in the design of this factory shows that this factory is feasible to be established with a production Break Event Point (BEP) value of 48%, Pay Back Period (PBP) of 2,95 years, Rate of Investment (ROI) of 33,88%, and Interest Rate of Return (IRR) of 22,61%.
