Evaluasi Teknologi Modifikasi Cuaca (TMC) Terhadap Penurunan Emisi Gas Karbon Provinsi Kalimantan Barat (Studi Kasus : Kabupaten Kubu Raya, Kabupaten Ketapang dan Kabupaten Sambas)
Based on data from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia in 2023, the districts experiencing the largest forest and peatland fires in West Kalimantan Province were recorded as Kubu Raya, Ketapang, and Sambas. This study investigates the impact of Weather Modification Technology (WMT) on carbon gas emissions. The research evaluates whether the implementation of WMT can increase rainfall, reduce hotspots, and minimize the areat of fires using the target only method. Meanwhile, the INCAS method is utilized to measure carbon gas emissions. The results indicate that WMT has an impact on increasing rainfall, reducing hotspots and fire areas, as well as decreasing carbon gas emissions. From data analysis, the WMT evaluation in Kubu Raya Regency in 2023 showed a percentage of PCH is 357%, a percentage of PHS is -100%, a percentage of PLS is 201%, and the total carbon gas emissions are 275,070 megatons. Meanwhile, in Ketapang District in 2023, a percentage of PCH is 128%, a percentage of PHS is 380%, a percentage of PLS is 395%, and the total carbon gas emissions are 2497.339 megatons. Analysis of data in Sambas District shows a percentage of PCH is 104%, a percentage of PHS could not be evaluated, a percentage of PLS is 23%, and total carbon gas emissions of 5.432 megatons.
