PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN KABEL TIE SEBAGAI EXTERNAL CONFINEMENT TERHADAP KUAT TEKAN BETON
Indonesia is a region that frequently experiences earthquakes. Because the risk of
earthquakes is high in Indonesia, innovation is needed to prevent and reduce the
impacts caused by these natural disasters. One solution that can be implemented
is to strengthen the existing building structure by providing external confinement
to the concrete. Cable ties were chosen as the material for external confinements
because they are materials that are easy to find on the market, have a relatively
cheap price, but have quite high tensile strength. Apart from that, cable ties are
also easy to install and place in concrete, making research easier with a more
flexible variety of uses. The objectives of this research include to determine the
effect of using tie cables as external confinements on the compressive strength of
concrete using fas 0.5 and to determine the spacing of using tie cables as external
confinements which can produce maximum concrete compressive strength. The
concrete mix design method used is a DOE method that is in accordance with
SNI 03-2834-2000 which uses materials that have previously been tested for
properties. The test object is cylindrical with a diameter of 10 cm and a height of
20 cm with a total of 12 samples. 2 types of confinement methods, namely using
wire ties and using adhesive glue, namely 3 samples each for varying distances of
1 cm, 1.25 cm, 2.5 cm, 5 cm plus 3 samples for normal concrete. The test results
for samples with wire bends are respectively 12.87 MPa, 12.66 MPa, 12.64 MPa,
10.15 MPa and the test results for samples with adhesive glue respectively are
10.52 MPa , 11.25 MPa , 13.32 MPa , 11.74 MPa.
