Hubungan Skor Curb-65 Dengan Mortalitas Pasien Community Acquired Pneumonia Yang Dirawat Inap Di RSUD Arifin Achmad Periode Tahun 2023
Community Acquired Pneumonia (CAP) is a serious infection that often leads to increased hospitalizations, complications, and is the leading cause of death among other infections. Mortality from CAP in hospitalized patients in Indonesia reaches 5-20%. Assessment of CAP severity is needed to help determine treatment management and prognosis so as to reduce the risk of mortality. The CAP severity assessment method used in this study is the CURB-65 score which is calculated based on confusion, ureum (BUN), respiratory rate, blood pressure, and age ≥ 65 years. This study aims to determine the relationship between CURB-65 score and mortality in CAP patients hospitalized at RSUD Arifin Achmad Riau Province in 2023. The study was conducted with a cross-sectional design from January to December 2023. A sample of 366 patients was obtained with the inclusion criteria of patients aged 18 years with complete medical records and exclusion criteria, namely CAP patients who died within 24 hours. The results showed that most patients had a CURB-65 score of 1 (41.5%) and score 4 as the lowest number (1.1%). The mortality rate of CAP reached 35% with the highest mortality found in CURB-65 score 4 (100%). Statistical analysis using the chi-square test showed that there was a significant association between CURB-65 score and patient mortality (p< 0.001). Based on this study, the CURB-65 score can be used as a method to predict the mortality risk of CAP patients by medical personnel routinely in emergency departments and limited health facilities.
