Prarancangan Pabrik Asam Asetat Dari Asetaldehid Proses Oksidasi Dengan Desain Alat Utama Reaktor Bubble Column (R-101)
ABSTRACT
Acetic acid is a hygroscopic carboxylic compound that is colorless, and has a very sharp aroma and is corrosive to metals and tissues. Some alternative acetic acid names are ethanoic acid, ethyl acid, methanakarboxylic acid, or vinegar acid. Acetic acid has the structural formula C2H4O2, but it is commonly written as CH3COOH and has a molecular weight of 60.05 g/mol. The uses for acetic acid are as follows: 41% is used in the production of vinyl acetate, 36% for the production of cellulose acetate and anhydride acetate, 11% for the production of acetate esters. 7% for the production of terephthalic acid, 5% assortment including textiles and chloroacetic acid. The demand for acetic acid in the country continues to increase in line with the increasing demand by the consumer industry. Therefore, the trend of imports from year to year continues to increase. Especially for supplying the industry of Purified Terephthalic Acid. The main equipment design at this plant is the Reactor (R-101).
