Analisis kadar antioksidan pada ekstrak Daun aren( Arenga pinnata ) Berdasarkan Nilai IC50
Sugar Palm (Arenga pinnata) are one of the plants that have the potential as antiox-idants. Antioxidants are chemical compounds that can neutralize free radical levels in the body. Excessive levels of free radicals in the body can cause oxidative stress that can damage cells, tissues, organs, and contribute to the onset of various diseas-es. Arenga pinnata are not widely known to have properties as antioxidants. This study aims to analyze the antioxidant levels in palm leaf extract with the DPPH method using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The DPPH principle is used to measure the ability of compounds to capture or reduce DPPH free radicals. The design of this study is a laboratory experiment conducted in August-November 2024. The sample of this study is palm leaves taken from plantation in Kampung Baru Village, Bukik Barisan District, Payakumbuh City Lima Puluh Kota Regency, West Suma-tra. The result of the linear regression equation for sugar palm leaf extract is y = 7,8779x +23,203. By entering the value of y = 50, an IC50 value of 30.0103 μg/mL (ppm) was obtained. The results showed that palm leaf extract had DPPH radical antidote activity with an IC50 value of less than 50 ppm, so it can be said that palm leaf extract has very strong antioxidant activity.
