Jenis Dan Jumlah Sampah Laut (Marine Debris) Di Zona Intertidal Kecamatan Pandan Kabupaten Tapanuli Tengah
Theincrease in population and humanactivities in coastal areascreatesthe potential for pollution in coastal areas,including marine debris. Marine debriscan move from one place to another due to the influence of ocean currents, waves and wind. The presence of marine debris can cause problems such as disrupting water quality, disturbing aquatic organismsand damaging the beauty of beaches. Thisresearch on thetype and amount of marine debrisusesa survey method by determining research stations using a purposive sampling method using a belt transect measuring 30 meters long and 2 meters wide. Each station consists of 3 transects with a distance between transects of 5 meters. Marine debris taken measuring > 2.5 cm - < 1 m (macro-debris) is located within the transect. Based on research conducted, 8 types of marine waste were found, namely plastic, cloth, glass, rubber, styrofoam, wood, leaves and fruit. The marine waste found amounted to 64,17 items/m2 with the largest type of waste being wood waste with 32,34 items/m2 and the least amount of waste being rubber waste with 0,05 items/m2. The weight of marine waste found was806,31 grams/m2 and the heaviest type of marine waste waswood waste 473,13 grams/m2, and the lightest type of marine waste was rubber waste 4,02 grams/m2.
