Sanggar Laksemana Pekanbaru Dan Kontribusinya Terhadap Pelestarian Kesenian Tari Melayu Riau (1983-2013)
This study examines the Laksemana Studio in Pekanbaru and its Contribution to the Preservation of Riau Malay Art (1983-2013). The purpose of this study is to describe the history of the establishment of the Laksemana Studio, to find out the development of the Laksemana Studio and the contribution of the Laksemana Studio in preserving Riau Malay dance art during the period 1983-2013. This study uses a historical method that has four stages, namely: heuristics, source verification/criticism, interpretation and historiography. The results of this study indicate that the Laksemana Studio was founded on August 24, 1983, founded by Iwan Irawan Permadi. The Laksemana Studio's contribution to the preservation of Riau Malay dance art includes frequently participating in festivals both domestically and abroad, routinely creating dance works, the Laksemana Studio in collaboration with the Cultural Service initiated Riau as the Center for Zapin Dance, and implementing educational programs aimed at promoting Riau Malay culture. The conclusion of this study shows that the contribution of Sanggar Laksemana to the preservation of Riau Malay arts during the period 1983–2013 was very significant and had a positive impact on the sustainability of Malay arts and culture at the local, national, and international levels.
