Kondisi Vegetasi Lamun Di Perairan Pantai Nirwana Kota Padang Sumatera Barat
This research was conducted in March 2024 in the waters of Nirwana Beach,
Padang City, West Sumatra Province. Samples collected included seagrass, sediment, and water quality parameters. Samples were analyzed in the Marine Biology and Marine Chemistry Laboratory, Department of Marine Science, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Riau University. The purpose of the study was to determine the condition of seagrass vegetations in Nirwana Beach based on the type, density, coverage, frequency, and distribution pattern of seagrass. The method used is a survey method with the determination of location points carried out by purposive sampling. The results showed that seagrass vegetation found in Nirvana Beach consisted of only one species, Thalassia hemprichii. Calculation of seagrass density showed a range of 136.89-178.89 stands/m2. Seagrass conditions based on density are included in the densed and very densed categories. Seagrass cover ranged from 62.50-70.83%. Seagrass conditions based on the percentage of seagrass cover fall into the category of rich or healthy seagrass conditions. The frequency ranged from 0.75-0.85. The results of the calculation of the Morisita Index showed a value of (Id) > 1, meaning that the seagrass population distribution pattern at the observation location has a clustered distribution pattern.
