Isolasi Dan Karakterisasi Jamur Patogen Pada Jarak Kepyar (Ricinus Communis) Serta Uji Antagonis Dengan Trichoderma Spp. Endofit

Nina Ayudhia Zahara / 1803111945 - Nama Orang;

The castor plant (Ricinus communis L.) plays a significant role in the economic sector; however, fungal pathogen infections often reduce its production. Trichoderma spp. is known as a beneficial biofungicide due to its high antagonistic ability in inhibiting the growth of fungal pathogens. This study aims to evaluate the antifungal activity of Trichoderma spp. against fungal pathogens infecting the castor bean plant. The antifungal activity of both volatile and nonvolatile compounds of Trichoderma spp. was tested using the dual culture method. The antifungal activity of the volatile compounds was assessed using the sealed plate method. The pathogens successfully isolated from infected castor bean fruits were Curvularia sp. and Fusarium sp.. The results showed that Trichoderma spp. exhibited strong and very strong antifungal activity in inhibiting the growth of Fusarium sp. in the non-volatile test, with a very strong inhibition percentages of 77.42% for GBA2 and 100% for GBA6. Similarly, the antifungal activity of Trichoderma spp. against Curvularia sp. in the non-volatile test was also very strong, with inhibition rates ranging from 89.30% to 100%. The antifungal activity of volatile compounds from Trichoderma spp. in inhibiting the growth of both Fusarium sp. and Curvularia sp. was mostly categorized as strong. The antifungal activity of nonvolatile compounds was higher compared to volatile compounds in limiting the growth of both pathogens, Fusarium sp. and Curvularia sp..
Key findings: Castor, nonvolatile, pathogen, Trichoderma spp., volatile.
