Waste is the remaining part of an activity obtained from industrial or domestic processes that is usually wasted. One of the waste suppliers is the livestock industry. Livestock waste that is underutilized is urine. Cattle farmers in Delima Jaya Village only utilize cow feces to be sold as compost while cow urine is only disposed of without being utilized. In addition to organic waste from animal husbandry, there is organic waste that comes from households, namely rice washing water waste. Cow urine and rice washing water (leri water) still contain nutrients that can be used as basic ingredients for liquid organic fertilizer. The use of POC will also provide an alternative for farmers because chemical fertilizers are currently soaring in price.
Seeing this potential, researchers will make POC by combining cow urine and rice washing water to increase kale production. Data from the Central Bureau of Statistics of Riau Province kale crop production has increased from 2019 to 2022. The increasing production proves that kale is one of the vegetables that has a high consumption level and is in demand by the community. Therefore, to help kale production, fertilization is needed. To see the effect of POC from cow urine and rice washing water, the researcher will conduct a plant test of POC from cow urine and rice washing water to water spinach plants
Based on the results of interviews conducted with biology teachers at SMA Negeri 1 Kerinci kanan, precisely in phase F and in the material of growth and development revealed that teachers utilize teaching materials in the form of textbooks and LKS in the learning process. One of the efforts made by researchers to be able to create learning activities that are interesting and not boring is by designing posters that are innovative, creative and present real facts in everyday life. By utilizing posters can provide a more meaningful, attractive and communicative teaching and learning atmosphere so that students are no longer fixated on the teacher's explanation.
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of liquid organic fertilizer from cow urine with rice washing water on the growth of kale, to determine the optimal concentration of liquid organic fertilizer from cow urine with rice washing water on the growth of kale and to design a poster of high school growth and development material class XII based on the results of the study. This research was conducted from April to August 2024 at the Nature Laboratory of Biology Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Riau University. This study used an experimental method with a completely randomized design consisting of 6 treatments and 3 replicates. The parameters measured were plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, wet weight and dry weight of kale plants. Analysis of research results using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and continued with the Duncan multiple range test (DMRT) at a real level of 5%. The design of learning media uses 2 stages, namely the Analysis and Design stages.
Based on the research that has been done, it can be concluded that the application of liquid organic fertilizer from cow urine and rice washing water gives an influence on the growth of kale. The optimal concentration of liquid organic fertilizer from cow urine with rice washing water on the growth of kale is the treatment with 500 ml of cow urine with 0 ml of rice washing water. The poster designed from the research results can be developed as a poster of plant growth and development material in the F phase of class XII SMA semester 1.
