Sejarah Perlawanan Pasukan Gajah Putih Menghadapi Agresi Militer Belanda II Di Kenegerian Simandolak (1948-1949)
This study discusses the history of the Dutch arrival in the Simandolak Territory, analyzes the resistance of the Gajah Putih Troops against the Dutch Military Aggression II in 1948-1949, and reveals the end of this resistance. The research method used is historical , which includes the stages of heuristics, verification, interpretation, and historiography. Primary data was obtained through interviews with sources directly related to the Gajah Putih Troops, while secondary data comes from books, journals, and related documents. The research findings show that the formation of the Gajah Putih Troops was done spontaneously by local community figures in response to the Dutch attack. This force played a strategic role in defending the Simandolak Territory area through guerrilla tactics, although it ultimately had to face greater military pressure from the Dutch. This study is expected to be an important contribution to the development of local history, particularly related to the struggle of the Kuantan Singingi community in defending independence. Additionally, the results of this research can be used as a reference for history learning at both academic and public levels.
