Jenis-Jenis Dan Kelimpahan Plankton Di Sungai Jangkang Dan Sungai Sebauk, Pulau Bengkalis
Plankton are microscopic living creatures, and float in waters following water currents. Community activities in the Jangkang River and Sebauk River are feared to have an impact on water quality. This study aims to determine the types and abundance of plankton in the Jangkang River and Sebauk River. The method used is a purposive sampling method with three stations (upstream, middle, downstream) using plankton nets, at each station three repetitions are taken, namely on the right, middle, and left edges once each sampling. The sample taken is 20 liters in each replicate. The results of the study showed that the abundance of plankton in the Jangkang River ranged from 300–4,300 ind/L and in the Sebauk River 200–1,900 ind/L, both of which were classified as moderate. The types of pancton in the Jangkang River consist of three classes, namely Bacillariophyceae, Cyanophyceae, and Chlorophyceae, with the species Rhopalodia sp., Fragilaria sp., Synedra sp., Lyngbya sp., Spirulina sp., Ulothirx sp., and Closterium sp.. The types of pancton in the Sebauk River consist of three classes, namely Bacillariophyceae, Cyanophyceae, and Chlorophyceae, with the species Rhopalodia sp., Fragilaria sp., Synedra sp., Lyngbya sp., Spirulina sp., Ulothirx sp., and Closterium sp., Spirogyra sp., Mougeotia sp.
