Penerapan Metode Continuous Flow Intersection (Cfi) Di Simpang Empat Panam Kota Pekanbaru Berdasarkan Mikrosimulasi Vissim
The four-way intersection named Simpang Empat Panam in Pekanbaru City is a signalized intersection that serves as access to the city center connecting Garuda Sakti street, Hr Soebrantas street, Raya Kubang street, and Raya Pekanbaru-Bangkinang street. This intersection is one of the densest traffic flow meeting points with very severe congestion levels, especially during peak hours. This dense traffic meeting causes high levels of congestion and average vehicle delays on each arm of the intersection. Therefore, this study conducted an alternativeeffort to overcome the congestion problem that occurs at the intersection using the application of a non-conventional intersection, namely the Continuous Flow Intersection (CFI) which is modeled using the Vissim Student Version application. The study was conducted using a field survey method that includes traffic volume, cycle time, intersection geometry, namely road width and shoulder, vehicle speed and driving behavior. The results of the modeling are calculated into 6 alternatives where in alternative I the intersection is implemented with the Continuous Flow Intersection (CFI) method and the existing cycle time 191 second and the delay time is 99,55 seconds, so that the delay time is reduced to 87.35 seconds and the service level is still F. Alternatives II and III reduce the cycle time to 170 seconds and 140 seconds so that the delay time is 83.06 seconds and 80.77 seconds and the service level is still F. While in alternatives IV, V and VI, the geometric intersection is widened and the cycle time is changed to 120, 100, and 80 seconds, resulting in a delay of 50.37 seconds, 43.82 seconds, and 47.61 seconds and the service level increases to level E. From all the experimental alternatives that have been carried out, it was concluded that alternative V is the alternative with the best performance improvement as evidenced by a decrease 56% in the delay time from the existing condition or alternatively 55.73 seconds and Level of Service from level F to E.
