Watersheds experience problems such as uncontrolled flooding in the rainy season, drought in the dry season, and declining water quality. The emergence of these problems requires watershed management efforts. In general, hydrological analysis methods can be done with probabilistic analysis, if there is a minimum of 10 years of discharge records on the river under review. However, this method is considered less efficient because it relies on long-term discharge records. Incomplete data for hydrological modeling is often a problem. The scarcity of discharge data compared to rainfall data spurred the development of technological advances. Technology helps overcome these problems with the emergence of hydrological modeling applications. In this case, hydrological modeling will be carried out with the help of HBV-Light software by taking a case study in the Mesjid watershed in Dumai City. The purpose of this research is to analyze the reliability of HBV-light applied to the Mesjid watershed and obtain a comparison between the observed discharge and the simulated discharge so that the differences, advantages, and disadvantages of this HBV Model can be analyzed with the model that has been studied previously, namely the Sugawara Tank Model. This research consists of two stages, the first stage is model calibration and verification and the second stage is evaluating the model, namely assessing model performance based on the status of the correlation coefficient (r), Nash-Sutcliffe Efficiency (NSE), and Root Mean Square Error (RMSE). The results showed that in general the simulated discharge pattern was quite consistent with the observed discharge pattern. This means that the performance of the HBV-Light model is quite good. In the next simulation period, the modeled discharge is closer to the observed discharge, meaning that the model performance is getting better.
