Kupu-Kupu (Rhopalocera) Di Kawasan Hutan Lindung Tasik Air Putih, Desa Teluk Samak, Kecamatan Rangsang, Kabupaten Kepulauan Meranti
The Tasik Air Putih Protected Forest area is located in the Meranti Islands Regency, Teluk Samak Village, Rangsang District. In this area you can see many kinds of butterflies. The existence of these butterflies is thought to be due to the various vegetation in them. This research aims to inventory butterfly species of the Rhopalocera Suborder in the Tasik Air Putih Protected Forest Area, Teluk Samak Village, Rangsang District, Meranti Islands Regency based on their morphological characters. The method used is the exploration method using an insect net. The Butterfly Sampling Area has 3 stations, Station 1 Plantation Area, Station 2 Natural Forest, Station 3 Tasik Air Putih. The characteristics of the butterfly observed were the head, thorax, legs, abdomen and wings. Results are presented in the form of descriptions and identification keys. The results obtained were 28 species from 96 individuals. The butterfly family consists of the hesperidae family (1 species), the lycaenidae family (1 species), the nymphalidae family (16 species), the papilionidae family (4 species), the pieridae family (6 species). The highest butterfly species are from the nymphalidae family . The characteristics of the antenna shape are rounded, tapered and rope. The chest color is black, brown and yellow. The colors on the legs and stomach are black, brown, yellow and white. The shape of the lower wing edge is smooth, wavy and an extension of the tail. The shape of the upper wing tip is tapered and rounded/curved.
