Strategi Pengembangan Usaha Kerang Darah (Anadara Granosa) Di Kabupaten Batu Bara =Business Development Strategy For Blood Blood Cockles (Anadara Granosa) In Batu Bara District
Blood cockles (Anadara granosa) have been known for a long time, especially in Asia. This animal is caught by fishermen in muddy or sandy coastal waters in tropical and subtropical areas and has been commercially cultivated for the past 15 years in several countries, including Indonesia. This study aims to analyze environmental suitability, income and profit, feasibility of cultivation and fishing businesses, and development strategies for blood cockle cultivation and fishing businesses in Batu Bara Regency. This study was conducted in November 2022- April 2023 by taking samples in Batu Bara Regency, North Sumatra, Indonesia in three sub-districts, namely Medang Deras District, Tnajung Tiram District and Lima Puluh Pesisir District. Respondents in this study were blood cockle cultivators and fishermen with a total of 120 respondents each. Blood cockle cultivators in this study were divided into small, medium and large scale cultivators. The results obtained are (1) The suitability of the blood cockle cultivation environment is very suitable based on aspects of physical parameters (temperature, current speed, water clarity, substrate), chemical parameters (pH, salinity, dissolved oxygen/DO, sediment organic matter), and biological parameters (phytoplankton); (2) The average income (receipt) from blood cockle cultivation business per year for small scale is IDR63,000,000.00 and the profit obtained is IDR26,159,480.19; the average income for medium scale is IDR68,760,000.00 and the profit is IDR33,354,927.14; and the average income for large scale is Rp. 88.920.000,00 and the profit obtained is IDR. 35.645.007,14. Meanwhile, the average income of blood cockle fishing business obtained by fishermen per year is IDR116,208,000.00 and the profit obtained by fishermen is IDR12,194,749.81/year; (3) The cultivation and fishing business of blood cockle carried out by the farming community and fishermen in Batu Bara Regency has a Benefit Cost Ratio (B/C Ratio) value ≥1, namely 1.12, meaning that the business is said to be economically feasible to continue; (4) The strategy for developing blood cockle cultivation and fishing businesses in Batu Bara Regency based on SWOT is in quadrant I (aggressive strategy). The recommended strategies focus on optimizing internal strengths and also minimizing weaknesses, while based on the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), namely a combination of blood cockle cultivation and fishing businesses through AHP analysis and sensitivity analysis. An integrated approach between cultivation and fishing provides the most effective strategic priorities and focus for developing blood cockle businesses.
