Analisis Kelimpahan Fitoplankton Terhadap Kesuburan Perairan Pantai Pasie Nan Tigo Kota Padang
Pasie Nan Tigo Village located in Padang City is an area that has abundant fishery resource potential. The presence of phytoplankton in waters can provide information about water conditions. Phytoplankton is also the largest contributor of oxygen in waters. One of the factors that affects phytoplankton productivity is the adequacy of nutrients needed by phytoplankton to grow and reproduce. The method used in this study is the survey method. This study was conducted by collecting primary data directly in the field, and secondary data from literature studies of journals, books, and articles. The result shows concentration of nitrate in the waters ranges from 0.83-0.87 mg/L, and those for phosphate ranging from 0.75-1.3 mg/L. The abundance of phytoplankton ranges from 452.1-588.3 ind/L. Based on the nitrate concentration, the waters of Pasie Nan Tigo Beach are included in the eutrophic (fertile) water category, and the phosphate concentration is included in the hypertrophic (high fertility) category, while the abundance of phytoplankton is included in the oligotrophic (low fertility) category. The results of this study indicate that the fertility level of the waters of Pasie Nan Tigo Beach, Padang City is included in the category of fairly good fertility levels.
