ABSTRACT
Network security is a crucial aspect of protecting data and systems from external threats. Port knocking is one method used to enhance security by hiding network ports from unauthorized access and only opening them after receiving the correct sequence of "knocks." This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the port knocking method in mitigating threats such as port scanning and brute force attacks. The research was conducted through simulations in a virtual network environment by testing various attack scenarios. The results indicate that port knocking significantly enhances network security by reducing the likelihood of open port exploitation. However, this method requires proper configuration and routine monitoring to prevent potential security gaps.
