Pengembangan e-flipbook berbasis literasi lingkungan pada materi perubahan lingkungan kelas x sma
Indonesia is currently facing big challenges in developing students' literacy skills which
are not only limited to the ability to read and write, but also include understanding important
issues around them, one of which is environmental problems. This environmental problem
will become a serious threat if each individual has low awareness of the environment.
Therefore, one way to increase awareness of the importance of protecting the environment is
to instill environmental literacy. Someone who has environmental literacy skills can establish
good relationships with society and nature so that they can increase a person's concern for the
environment. We can instill environmental literacy in every individual, especially students as
the nation's next generation, so that it can foster student involvement in taking proenvironmental
actions while interacting with nature. To instill an environmental literacy
attitude in students can be done by implementing environmental literacy indicators in school
lessons related to the environment. Therefore, the author chose environmental change
material that refers to learning outcomes in the class X biology subject of the national
curriculum to increase environmental literacy in students.
Based on the results of interviews with Pekanbaru State High School biology teachers
who stated that environmental change material requires students to study independently and
with the help of teachers and learning resources such as textbooks, modules and so on.
However, students' textbooks cannot be utilized optimally as learning resources. Because
learning resources are difficult for students to understand because the language or appearance
is less attractive, this results in students' lack of interest in reading so that students have
difficulty understanding the material. Therefore, students want interesting learning resources
with material that is concise and easy to understand can be used as an independent learning
resource and can be owned by all students, thereby making students active in learning and
understanding the material during the learning process. One learning resource that can be
utilized is E-Flipbook.
This E-Flipbook development research uses the ADDIE model which is carried out only
up to the development stage. This research was carried out on the campus of the Biology
Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), University of
Riau and SMA Negeri 8 Pekanbaru. The time for conducting the research is February 2024 -
December 2024. The data used in this development research consists of quantitative data and
qualitative data using validation sheet instruments and response questionnaire sheets with
several assessment aspects, namely aspects of appropriateness of material content, design
aspects, and aspects of appropriateness of presentation.
The results of the validation of environmental literacy-based E-Flipbook product
development obtained an average score of 3.79 in the very valid category. The results of the
phase I limited trial obtained an average of 3.80 in the very good category. The results of the
phase II limited trial obtained an average of 3.81 in the very good category. The average
results for the quality of E-Flipbook obtained a score of 3.8 in the very good category.
Based on the results of the research that has been carried out, it can be concluded that
the E-Flipbook based on environmental literacy on environmental change material for class
The quality of the E-Flipbook was declared very good based on the validation results with a
score in the very valid category and the results of a limited trial through two stages with a
very good score. Recommendations for future researchers that can be done are, to develop an
E-Flipbook that includes other biological material, use a learning model, or continue the next
stage of this development research.
