Pemberian Dosis Kompos Mengandung Metarhizium Anisopliae (Metsch) (Metankos) Untuk Pengendalian Orytes Rhinoceros L. Dan Pertumbuhan Tanaman Kelapa Sawit Belum Menghasilkan
ABSTRACT
Oryctes rhinoceros L. is a major pest of Elaeis guineensis Jacq. which can
reduce yield by 69% at the first harvest and cause 25% mortality in immature
plants. Biological control using the fungus Metarhizium anisopliae (Metsch.)
inoculated into compost can control the population of O. rhinoceros and can
increase the growth of E. guineensis seedlings. This study aims to obtain the best
dose of metsch compost to control O. rhinoceros and the growth of immature
E. guineensis plants. The research was conducted at the Plant Pest Laboratory,
Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University and continued at PTPN V Sei Galuh
Plasma Oil Palm Plantation, Kampar Regency, Riau Province from September
2023 to May 2024. This study used an experimental method using a completely
randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replicates. The treatments were
different doses of metankos, namely metankos 0 kg per plant (Palm Oil Empty
Fruit Bunches (POEFB)10 kg per plant), metankos 10 kg per plant, metankos 20
kg per plant, metankos 30 kg per plant and metankos 40 kg per plant. The results
showed that the dose of metankos 10 kg per plant was the best dose to control
O. rhinoceros larvae. The treatment of 40 kg per plant dose of metankos is the
best dose that can increase the height gain of 62.42 cm and the increase in the
number of fronds of 5.25 strands in immature E. guineensis plants.
