Bioekonomi Udang Tenggek (Fenneropenaeus Merguiensis) Di Perairan Kecamatan Tanah Merah Kabupaten Indragiri Hilir Provinsi Riau
Tenggek Prawn is a high value fishery commodity that dominates the catch in the waters of Tanah Merah District. However, increasing fishing activity in recent years has raised concerns about the potential for overfishing. This study aims to analyze the level of fishing effort for tenggek prawn using a bioeconomic approach under three conditions: maximum sustainable yield (MSY), maximum economic yield (MEY), and open access (OA) as well as to assess the current utilization status of tenggek prawn in the area. The research method used is a survey method through interviews with respondents and collection of secondary data from relevant institutions. The analysis model employed is a bioeconomic analysis using the Fox Algorithm model. The results show that the MSY level is 253.2 tons/year with an effort of 200 units/year. The MEY is achieved at a production level of 221,40 tons/year with an effort of 129 units/year, yielding a maximum economic profit of IDR 6.69 billion/year. Under open access conditions, the production level is 232 tons/year with an effort of 258 units/year and zero profit. The average utilization rate of tenggek prawn resources in the waters of Tanah Merah Subdistrict during the period 2015–2024 reached 91%, indicating that the resource is in a fully exploited condition, or has been utilized close to the sustainable yield limit (MSY), within the 75%–100% range.
