The Effect Of The Snowball-Throwing Learning Method On The Students' Writing Ability On Descriptive Texts At Sman 2 Sentajo Raya

This pre-experimental research aims to determine the effect of Snowball
Throwing on the writing ability of students of SMAN 2 Sentajo Raya. Specifically, this study
answers the research question of whether using Snowball Throwing has an effect on the
ability of grade X students of SMAN 2 Sentajo Raya to write a descriptive text. This study
used a pre-test, treatment, and post-test methodology of one group of 29 students from 5
classes as samples using cluster random sampling. Based on the results of the study, the
average pre-test was 65.23, while the average post-test was 71.80. For more details, a
Paired T-test was conducted on students' pre-test and post-test scores. The results showed
that Snowball Throwing was useful in improving students' ability in writing descriptive text
because the Sig. (2-Tailed) from the Paired Sample, the T-test results of the raters are
0.000, which is smaller than 0.05.
