Analisis Debit Air Dengan Variasi Pengukuran Kecepatan Aliran Pada Sungai Sail
ABSTRACT
This research analyzes water discharge with variations in flow velocity measurements at Sail River, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City. Water discharge is a crucial parameter in hydrology, playing a significant role in water resource management, flood mitigation, and infrastructure planning. The study aims to determine the water discharge value based on flow velocity measurement methods, analyze the influence of measurement point variations on discharge calculations, and select the best method for discharge estimation. Two measurement methods used are the current meter method and the float method. Primary data, such as flow velocity, river depth, and cross-sectional profiles, were obtained through direct field measurements, while secondary data, such as topographic maps, were gathered from other sources. The results show that the current meter method provides more accurate discharge estimations compared to the float method. Variations in measurement points significantly affect discharge calculations, where more measurement points yield more accurate discharge estimations. This research is expected to contribute to water resource management in Sail River and serve as a reference for further hydrology studies.
