Analisis Faktor-Faktor Yang Memengaruhi Produksi Jagung Di Kecamatan Payakumbuh Kabupaten Lima Puluh Kota
ABSTRACT
This study aims to analyze the factors affecting corn production in
Payakumbuh Subdistrict, Lima Puluh Kota Regency, and to evaluate the
appropriateness of farmers' input use based on technical recommendations. A
survey method was employed involving 60 corn farmers in Taeh Baruah Village.
Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with independent variables
including land area, seed, urea fertilizer, phonska fertilizer, pesticide, labor, and
farming experience. The results showed that most farmers had not applied input
doses in accordance with technical guidelines, particularly for seed and Phonska
fertilizer, while pesticide use tended to exceed the recommended dose.
Simultaneously, all variables significantly affected corn production. Partially, land
area, seed, urea fertilizer, phonska fertilizer, labor, and farming experience had a
significant effect, while pesticide did not. The coefficient of determination (R²) was
0.891, indicating that 89.1% of the variation in corn production could be explained
by the model. These findings highlight the importance of optimizing and efficiently
using production inputs and the need for technical guidance to improve productivity
and sustainability in corn farming.
