Analisis Risiko Pada Kegiatan Penebangan Menggunakan Chainsaw Dan Tree Shear Di Pt. Rapp Estate Pelalawan
ABSTRACT
Felling activities in Industrial Forest Plantations (IFP) present occupational safety
and health risks due to the use of mechanical tools such as chainsaws and tree
shears. This study aimed to analyze work-related risks and determine control
measures during felling activities at PT. Riau Andalan Pulp and Paper (RAPP)
Estate Pelalawan. The HIRADC (Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and
Determining Control) method was applied through observation, measurement, and
interviews with 30 respondents consisting of chainsaw operators, tree shear
operators, and safety officers. The results showed that chainsaw operations had 14
potential hazards dominated by mechanical, physical, and ergonomic factors such
as kickback, noise exposure (>100 dBA), vibration, and unsafe posture. Tree shear
operations had lower risks related to hydraulic leakage and equipment failure.
Based on risk assessment, chainsaw operations were classified as high-risk, while
tree shear operations were medium-risk. Applying systematic risk management
through HIRADC can enhance worker safety and operational efficiency in forest
harvesting.
