Motivasi Malaysia Melakukun Perundingan Free Trade Area (FTA) Dengan Australia Pada Tahaun 2004-2007

This research to describe trade relations beetwen Malaysia and Australia
in 2004-2007. Malaysia and Ausralia agreed to conduct parallel scoping studies
of a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) in July 2004. These studies were to provide a
basis for the two government to decide whether to proceed negotiations. As an
International Relations student the relationship between Malaysia and Australia
is a great interest. Malaysia is not only Australia’s closest neighbour
geographically, but the two countries have distinct histories, cultures, languages
and ideologies. The goal of this study is to examine the motivation of Malaysia on
the Malaysian – Australian FTA negotiations, both at the governmental level and
people-to-people level. Because public opinion influences government policy
whereas governmental actions also influence societies perceptions.
