Persepsi Masyarakat Kota Dumai Terhadap Sampah Dan Limbah Luar Negeri (Pakaian Bekas)

The study was conducted in Senggol Market Dumai city to determine the public perception of Dumai city against used clothes. The specific goals of this research are to determine the condition of used clothing traded on the Market Senggol Dumai City suspected contain bacteria harmful to health, to know the views of Dumai cityzen against used clothing viewed from economic side or enviroment (trash and waste), to know which cityzen used clothing as economic thing, and to know the publik perception of Dumai city on used clothing based on the understanding, views and assessments. The population of this research was Dumai Cityzen with the number of respondents as many as 100 people consisting of 70 elements of the community of buyers, traders community 20 elements and 10 elements of environmental practitioner. The Analysis data technique is done by collecting answers from respondents using questionnaires then summed distribution of the respondents' answers.
The results showed that: (1) Based on the results of UPT. Environmental Health Laboratory and the Riau province about identification of bacteria and fungi on used clothes, the bacterium Bacillus Sp, Enterobacter Sp and Shigella. Sp., Which are harmful to health are found. (2) The public perception of Dumai city on used clothing see clothes with bad criteria, looking at used clothing based on the economic side. It means that the public believes the used clothing can meet the demand for clothes and a source of livelihood. (3) The public perception buyers and traders viewed castoffs from the economic side while environmental practitioners looked at used clothing from the environment and waste). 4) The public perception Dumai city on used clothing based on the terms of the understanding, views and assessment obtained criteria for respondents which are not good. It means Based on the level of understanding. The public understands that used clothing is a safe product reuse. People should understand used clothing is garbage and waste import. The mind will people looking at used clothing from an economic believed that the used clothes are able to meet the demands for clothing and the need for lifestyle branded on used clotes with the assessment that the used clothes are environmentally friendly products, in terms of used clothing is not an environmentally friendly product.
