At this time almost everyone has a vehicle or most people have more than one vehicle the same or different, such as motorcycles and cars. The more people who own the vehicle the more problems are caused by many factors. Factors causing the occurrence of congestion or density that occurred at the intersection of the highway is the factor of the road that is perforated and the presence of traders selling at the edge of the road. As well as the growth of existing vehicles in Pekanbaru City is growing rapidly and rapidly up to 18% per year, as the occurrence of the points - prone points of congestion in Pekanbaru City is on a number of roads between other protocol roads and sudirman general road as the direction of urban and office. Where the observation and monitoring of traffic flow among others is at the intersection of Kahairudin Nasution road to Tengku Bey road and so is the reverse direction, from circumstances it is made a better system in regulating the timing of traffic lights. The technology used in this mutual interest is in the form of the Smart Traffic Light system. This system uses inductive proximity sensors as detection if there is density at one intersection then automatically occurring the addition of seconds of time at the intersection with the duration of 5 seconds, where the sensor signal gives command to the program that has been installed on the minimum system circuit, this program using software LD Micro PLC and inductive proximity sensor.
