Persiapan Adsorben Dari Limbah Ampas Tebu Menggunakan Aktivator Natrium Hidroksida Dan Model Adsorpsi Terhadap Larutan Metilen Biru
ABSTRACT
This research aims to make adsorbent from waste bagasse by activation using NaOH, and to study the adsorption equilibrium models and kinetic based on the adsorption of the methylene blue. The adsorption was studied with variation of contact time, adsorbate concentration and adsorption temperature. Waste bagasse was grounded and by size between 80 and 120 mesh and activated with NaOH at a ratio of the mass of bagasse : mass of NaOH is 5:1; 10:1; and 20:1(w/w) that was coded as ATAN5:1, ATAN10:1 and ATAN20:1. The result showed that the time and the adsorbate concentration, proportionate straight with adsorption capacity. Adsorption system in accordance with the adsorption isotherm models Freundlich with R2 = 0.9087 which filled with adsorbent types ATAN10:1 and isotherm Temkin also meet with R2 = 0,9061. Adsorption kinetics according to the study was pseudo second-order for the adsorption of metilen blue by ATAN with the R2 value for ATAN5:1; ATAN10:1; ATAN20:1 were 0,9981; 0.9992; 0,9941 respectively.
