Struktur Komunitas Plankton Di Perairan Mangrove Teluk Buo Kota Padang Provinsi Sumatera Barat
Degradation in the Teluk Buo mangrove ecosystem may affect the organic materials input in the water and thus affects the life of aquatic organisms in that area, including plankton. To understand the plankton community structure in that area, a study has been conducted in February 2017. Samples were taken 3 times, once/weeks, in 3 different areas. One hundred liters water was sieved into 125 ml using a plankton net number 25. The plankton sampled was fixed using lugol solution and identified using a binocular microscope. There were 29 types of phytoplankton present, such as Cyclotella sp, Rhizosolenia sp, Leptocylindrus sp, Eudorina sp and Eudorina sp, and its density was 17,111 cells/L. There were 16 types of zooplankton, such as Pseudochydorus sp, Argonothoca sp, Cyttarocylis sp and Euglypha sp, and its density was 5,153 cells/L. The values of H’ was 4.46, C was 0.05 and E was 0.88. The plankton community structure in the teluk Buo mangrove is categorized as good.
