Faktor Yang Mempengaruhi Pertimbangan Penyelenggara Event Organizer Memilih Kota Pekanbaru Sebagai Destinasi Exhibition

ABSTRACT

Exhibition is part of MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Conference, Exhibition) which is known to give foreign exchange earners greater than tourists who only come for vacation. This has been the concern of Pekanbaru City since 2012 to make Pekanbaru City follow Batam to become one of the MICE Cities in Indonesia. Exhibition activities in Pekanbaru have gradually developed rapidly with the presence of event organizers who are competent in their fields. However, until now the city of Pekanbaru has not been able to compete with Batam City even though it is considered to be located in a strategic place and already has the facilities and infrastructure to support MICE activities. For this reason, this research was conducted to find out the factors that influenced the consideration of the organizer of the event organizer to choose the city of Pekanbaru as an exhbition destination. This study uses the Delphy method with a descriptive approach. The research subject was the Pekanbaru City Tourism Office and professionals in the event organizer. Data collection is done through document studies, interviews and documentation. While data analysis is done by reducing data, presenting data and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that there are 9 influential factors and 7 factors that have no effect as a consideration factor for the event organizer to choose Pekanbaru City as Exhibition destination.
